the first attempt

Remember when I was hoarding saving Amazon gift cards so that I could purchase a DSLR?

She's here. But, she's just a newborn, so I am still trying to figure her out. In the mean time, I tried my hand at some photos of the boys. I wish we were still having that 50+ degree weather that we had earlier in the month, being outside would have made the whole episode a lot easier. O wanted no part of participating for photos, and M did okay for a while, but eventually after two minutes, they had lost their temper and I had misplaced my patience. Though, upon editing the photos, I realized I had a few that I really liked. Looking forward to having some printed up...

I am looking for recommendations on reasonably priced software for editing, creating collages, digital scrapbooking, etc.

Recommendations?

  1. These look awesome, Mary! Good job! I have Photoshop, but I hear Photoshop Elrments is good. I also heard a lot of people who use Picnik but that's closing in April.

  2. Thanks, Kyley - I did the best with the limited knowledge that I have. I need to take a class, sometime in the very near future. I actually have Elements, so I should really start to learn to use that, too. My version is about five years old. I LOVE Picnik and am sad they're shutting down the site. Hope your foot is healing fast!

  3. Your best bet really is Adobe PS Elements 10 for editing, collages, adding special effects, etc. iPhoto is fine for organizing the photos, and you can use the Comments feature to journal the photos as you upload. I've looked at Aperture, but I don't believe it's worth it. (Also, coincidentally - I printed the first three photos this morning!)
