Then, once I graduated and joined the corporate ranks, I only had to
But, I am really wanting to learn to sew and tackle some fun projects. May I present sewing project #1:
| Burp cloths, given as a gift to a close friend (she had a boy)... |
I thought this was a great beginner project because I had to teach myself how to thread the machine and the bobbin (and yes, I was even bright enough to use white stiching on the bottom and match the top stitching to the material). Oh, and professional sewers and home-ec teachers (Heidi), forgive me for my lack of technical terminology here. And, all I have to use right now is a mini-machine that is basically good for hemming a pair of pants (maybe).
I can't wait to tackle my next sewing project, but for right now, it is top secret!
(Oh, and for the record, I used said sewing machine to create
this onesie to match a tutu that I made for Claire's first birthday...)
CUTE! You are crafty!!!
ReplyDeleteAnd for the scrapbooking.... digital is the only way I stay caught up. It's so fast and easy. If I were counting on my 'real' scrapbooks to be up to date I'd be still in the college years. (Well I am still in them in my 'real' scrapbooks....) Good luck! :)
Love them! While I'm quite crafty, I am not good with technology and I JUST figured out how to read and follow your blog! Yay! Now, you just need to update it EVERYDAY so that it feels like you're closer! ;) I love your sewing projects! It's addicting, no? Have fun! P.S. I don't have any suggestions on the washing of your fabrics. Did you use flannel? Flannel, I've found, is notorious for looking worn after one wash. But better to have everything pre-shrunk than to have fabrics shrink at different rates post-production and have the project turn out all wonky after a few washes (and yes, "wonky" is the technical term). ;)
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you figured it out :) I will add you to the list to read the updates about the boys, I keep those private because you never know what kind of "wonky" people are out there reading the blog and looking at photos of your kiddos... I'm probably just overprotective, and I am okay with that label!
ReplyDeleteI did use flannel... I'm still {obviously} learning the ropes.
HUGS!
