I had big plans for a "Toddler Tuesday" post on the topic of healthy eating/meal ideas/getting-them-to-eat-vegetables-at-all. However, if you remember this post, well the Outlook finally sold and we have been tied up securing a new Ramseymobile. I am writing this post on Monday night, way past my bedtime, after putting the littlest guy down, finally.
I'd say Matthew is picky, but he's not, he's just a toddler. He turns his nose up at foods he's never tried. Half the time he thinks dessert is a vegetable and won't try it until we get a little taste on his lips and he realizes we aren't trying to shove broccoli into his mouth. Share your ideas for getting your toddler to try new things and eat some greens!
I'm sure this idea won't work for everyone, but it sometimes works for us: I always give her what I want her to eat most (ie vegetables!) first. I think she'll eat anything you put in front of her at first. It's later or once she's had something like blueberries or cheese (my girl loooooves cheese) that I have a hard time getting her to eat something different. Just my 2 cents! I also mix veggies into a lot of stuff like muffins, in pasta, on pizza. :) Are you adjusting to being a mommy of 2?!
ReplyDeleteHave you seen the kid cookbooks where they take veggies and turn them into really cool monsters and different things (sort of like ants on a log)? Some of them I have no idea how a mom would have time to do but others are pretty quick and easy.
